Implants
A dental implant is a small, sturdy, titanium post that acts as the root structure would for a natural tooth. A dental implant is surgically placed in either your upper or lower jaw, and after the bone has grown around the dental implant, the implant can be restored with a crown, bridge, or overdenture. Dental implants look and function just like natural teeth, and can be used to replace both single and multiple teet.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy is used to correct disorders or diseases of the dental pulp. The pulp is the soft tissue inside the tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. Teeth with abcessed or infected nerves are treated with root canal therapy. The most common causes of pulpal nerve damage are tooth decay that reaches down to the nerve and trauma.
Crowns
Dental crowns, also known as “caps”, are restorations that cover the cover and encompass the entire tooth . Crowns are used when there is a need to rebuild broken or decayed teeth, strengthen teeth, or improve the cosmetic appearance of teeth. Crowns can be made from porcelain, metal, or a combination of both.
Bridges
Dental bridges are fixed appliances that replace one or more missing teeth and are permanently cemented. A dental bridge is made out of three or more pieces that fit into the open space in the mouth and bridge the gap. Most bridges are made with a pontic, or false tooth, and are held together by two or more crowns. This is then cemented to the abutment teeth which are the surrounding teeth on each side of the gap.
Dentures
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. Dentures are typically made out of an acrylic resin, or a resin combined with metal for added support.. There are two main types of dentures, complete and partial. Both complete and partial dentures are custom made for each patient.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Veneers
Dental veneers are thin shells of specially shaped porcelain that are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth (much like a contact lens). They are used to correct such problems as chips, fractures, misshapen, crooked or severely stained teeth. Veneers can also close gaps, change size, shape or position of teeth, and improve the worn appearance of teeth.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a chemical process used to lighten the color of a patients teeth, and is perhaps the most commonly recommended cosmetic dentistry procedure. Teeth are often stained from smoking, food, drink, or poor oral hygiene. Whitening procedures can greatly improve the brightness and overall appearance of teeth. Teeth can be whitened by several new techniques. Whitening can be accomplished entirely in the dentist’s office or can be performed at home with materials provided by the doctor.
Cosmetic Dental Bonding
Bonding refers to a range of dental procedures each of which is similar in the sense that it employs the use of a type of dental restorative called composite. Cosmetic bonding procedures can be used for a variety of purposes ranging from replacement of missing, chipped or fractured teeth, creating cosmetic enhancements for teeth, and in many instances can be an appropriate restorative procedure for back teeth. The result is a restoration that blends invisibly with the remainder of the surrounding tooth.
Invisalign
Invisalign clear tooth aligners are one of the most popular alternatives to conventional metal braces. The Invisalign system incorporates a series of clear plastic aligners that fit comfortably over your teeth and are specifically designed to move your teeth gradually into the desired position. Invisalign is a leading brand of orthodontic appliances primarily because the removable aligners are more esthetically pleasing than conventional braces, and can be used for treating many types of minor misaligned teeth. Most treatments can be accomplished in less than a year.
Smile Makeover
Smile makeovers involve a comprehensive treatment plan to assess and treat esthetic issues in order to improve the overall appearance of your teeth. Typically one or more comprehensive cosmetic procedures are incorporated to achieve the look you want. Veneers, crowns, whitening, and gingival sculpting and recontouring may be required.
